I use my balcony as my office, litterally. I work outside 365 days a year.
My whole apartment is sitting on top of a nice garden full of trees and plants. It's right in the middle of the city of Montpellier, surrounded by les Cevennes, les Pyrénées, la Camargue... all of which are rich and quite 'preserved' ecosystems. This is a magnificent environnement.
And I just happen to witness an amazing ballet during my office hours : Insects are everywhere. Every type, every color, every shape... There's a whole Universe right there. I don't chase them, I am not a biologist nor a nerd, I just look around me. I don't do Macro either, I am not equipped and I wouldn't have the dedication. But I have a phone that let me pretend I do. I'm very pleased to show you a handful of these beauties.
This is an open series, I'll be adding stuff whenever I feel like it. See you around. Welcome to the micro world !
Featuring (my humble guess) : Saitis barbipes (1,2), Chalcoscirtus infimus (3), Phaiogramma etruscaria (4), Xanthogaleruca luteola (5), Anthophila (6), Misumena vatia (7), Selimus vittatus (9), Tarentola mauritanica (10), Villa hottentotta (11), Steatoda grossa (12), Armadillidium vulgare (13), Epirrita christyi (14), Centrotus cornutus (15), Rhopalus subrufus - larve (16), Anyphaena accentuata (17), Lymantria dispar (18), Palpita vitrealis (19), Phaneroptera nana (20). No idea what n°8 is.
