About this picture
"This photo is part of an extensive work I did as a photographer at l'Atelier Jean Roger Paris, a micro french Art Ceramic luxury house. It belongs to my Pagaille Works OG series, a collection of pictures shot in Paris between 2016 and 2018.
Before being enameled, the piece is called biscuit. That's my favorite "state" of ceramic in terms of photography. Biscuit is mat, light-friendly, I like the raw look of naked clay, porous and with asperity. But being porous is not a great feat when you you're a vase or crockery. Enamels are complex though, for example some are not suit for human culinary contact. Ceramic is a quite technical thing indeed." © Augustin Remay I Pagaille
